Layer 1 — the episode lines

Layer 2 — the lines of who he was
Not battle-cries but identity — the seal on his letters and the names people gave him.
| The line | What it means | Home | |
|---|---|---|---|
| प्रतिपच्चंद्रलेखेव वर्धिष्णुर्विश्ववंदिता, शाहसूनोः शिवस्यैषा मुद्रा भद्राय राजतेThe Rajmudra — his royal seal, in Sanskrit, genuinely of his time | "Like the waxing first-day moon, the seal of Shahaji's son Shivaji grows, honoured by the world, shining for the people's good." Kid-version: swarajya starts thin as a crescent and grows. | Day 3 · 6 | History |
| मर्यादेयं विराजतेMaryādeyaṃ virājate | The closing seal on his letters: "here the writing's limit rests." | Day 26 | History |

Largely ceremonial / later-elaborated. | Day 22 | Debated |
On the epithets: whether Ramdas was formally Shivaji's guru is debated by historians — and the praise-poem is traditionally accepted as his, though its authenticity is also discussed. See the Ramdas story.
Layer 3 — the war-cries & big words
The words the whole army — and the whole idea — rode on.
| The word | What it means | Home | |
|---|---|---|---|
| हर हर महादेवHar Har Mahādev | The traditional battle cry, invoking Shiva. | many | History |
| जय भवानी, जय शिवाजीJai Bhavānī, Jai Shivājī | "Victory to Bhavani, victory to Shivaji." Popular / later, but beloved. | many | Legend |

| हिंदवी स्वराज्यHindavī Swarājya | "Self-rule of this land" — the fuller name of the dream from Day 1. | Day 20 | History |
| रयतेचं राज्यRayatechã rājya | "A kingdom of the common people (the raiyat)" — what his rule was for. | Day 26 | History |
⚠ Do NOT teach these as his words
“स्वराज्य हा माझा जन्मसिद्ध हक्क आहे” — "Swarajya is my birthright." This is Lokmanya Tilak, around the 1900s — not Shivaji. Keep it where it belongs.
“शिवाजी न होते तो…” ("Had there been no Shivaji…"). A later Hindi couplet of tribute, not a documented quotation of or by him.
